What’s Happening on the North Fork

Properties easily come and go on the North Fork and now as we quickly head into the winter season, activity won’t necessarily slow down. There may be a lull between all of the holiday planning and celebrations over the next few weeks, but local real estate agents won’t be taking a break anytime soon. This month, we are featuring two listings; one recently sold in Laurel and another on the market in Peconic, both of which exemplify North Fork living. A casual eatery that has been a staple for years is expanding yet again, bringing one of Americans’ favorite fares to Mattituck. It will be the perfect pitstop for holiday shopping across the East End, or even between real estate viewings. As always, there is much to enjoy on the North Fork this season, especially as it comes alive again with holiday cheer. Here’s a glimpse into what’s been happening recently and what we have to look forward to…

Sold: 7080 Peconic Bay Boulevard
A lucky buyer will wake up every morning to panoramic views of the Peconic Bay at the recently sold four bedroom, three bathroom home last listed for $1.725 million. 7080 Peconic Bay Boulevard in Laurel, listed by Douglas Elliman Real Estate licensed associate real estate broker Thomas McCloskey, is a gorgeous bayfront home that takes advantage of the views with a cabana, deck and balcony. The master bedroom suite looks out to the water with a second story balcony. There is plenty of privacy to enjoy.
“The buyers of this property were most impressed with the panoramic Peconic Bay views from the two balconies, deck on the back of the house, waterfront deck and cabana,” McCloskey shares. “This house had all of the modern amenities while maintaining the details and feel of a time gone by.”

On the Market: 325 Wells Road
Soaring ceilings, spacious light-filled spaces, luxury amenities and a prime location is what prospective buyers will find at 325 Wells Road in Peconic. The home, listed by Douglas Elliman Real Estate licensed associate real estate broker Kristy Naddell, which is listed for $1.695 million, is a stunning estate. Of its prime features, the gourmet kitchen with marble countertops, Wolf stove, and crystal chandelier is key. The first floor ensuite master bedroom with a Carrera marble bath and double sinks is the perfect place to relax and unwind. The backyard also features a bluestone patio, outdoor fireplace, and a 18×32 foot saltwater pool.
“Simply magnificent,” Naddell says of the home. “Custom built in 2016, this cedar shake traditional home has everything a high-end buyer would want. It is situated on 2.44 acres with four bedrooms, two-and-a-half bathrooms, a saltwater pool and an incredible outdoor entertaining area. You must see in person to appreciate.”

Lucharitos Expands
Known for its colorful atmosphere and long list of tacos, burritos, and other Mexican fare, Lucharitos has become a staple in its first location in Greenport. Demand prompted owner Marc LaMania to expand, and he opened a second location in Aquebogue in 2017. The following year, plans were announced for a Center Moriches outpost, where fans can enjoy menu items from the taco truck while the main restaurant undergoes renovations. Now, Lucha lovers can get their fix at The Burrito Bar, opening in Mattituck in early 2020. What makes this new, 16-seat spot particularly unique is that customers will be able to order burritos to go and take them next door to enjoy a movie at Mattituck Cinemas. Made-to-order, grab-and-go burritos, tacos, and a salad bar will be among the offerings customers can expect to find. Burrito and a movie? Count us in.
