Cruise Into Long Island’s North Fork With Style

paddle-board

Exciting news for North Fork boaters and lovers of the waterside lifestyle! Strong’s Marine, a well-known and respected name in the marine business for four generations, acquired the historic Matt-a-Mar marina location this spring – with plans to offer one of the finest boating destinations on Long Island Sound.  Renamed Strong’s Water Club & Marina, the property is located on the peaceful Mattituck Inlet, with direct access to the Long Island Sound – complementing Strong’s existing North Fork marina on James Creek on Peconic Bay in Mattituck.

In addition to dockage, service and storage for boats up to 75’, at this facility the Strong family is excited to offer guests an Olympic-size saltwater pool; complimentary paddle boards (SUPs) and kayaks for members;  a beach volleyball court; Adirondack chairs and a fire pit on the park-like grounds to encourage guests to linger and watch the often-spectacular sunset – and a soon-to-open restaurant and poolside bar. At every Strong’s location, the emphasis is on providing friendly, helpful and welcoming service.  The Water Club’s general manager, Ted Webb, has over 25 years of experience delighting Long Island mariners – and in addition, the facility offers a full-time concierge to arrange wine tours, tee times and transportation for guests.

Strong’s now offers a unique and exclusive benefit for summer dockage clients:  clients of either Strong’s North Fork location – Strong’s Marine on the Bay or Strong’s Water Club & Marina – may choose to dock and boat at either location throughout the season as they choose.  Spend a month docking on the Sound, then move to the Bay in August if you like, for an entirely different boating perspective.  The team is thrilled to open up new boating horizons for their clients!

Since closing on the property, the Strong’s crew has been working nonstop to spruce up the facilities for the season. Their plans are ambitious, and there’s still work to be done. They are looking forward to greeting clients and friends old and new – and incorporating input from the community – as they develop this new location into a premier boating resort!
