WIf you’re looking for something to do this Wednesday night, try your hand at watercolor painting. Artist Melissa Hyatt will lead a special workshop at Love Lane Kitchen in Mattituck for all experience levels. The focus of the workshop will be the beautiful birds of the East End, including cardinals, blue jays, and chickadees. Participants can choose from Hyatt’s colorful references or bring a photo of their own for inspiration.
Hyatt will share her watercolor techniques, including teaching participants how to draw the piece, mix the paints, and play with wet on wet and dry on wet techniques. They will experiment with layering to create the piece and add detail. At the end, take home your 5×7-inch painting. The workshop is $30 per person. Advance registration is required here.
