Among Greenport’s summer lineup of restaurant openings is the new lounge, café, and roof deck at The Menhaden hotel. The Merchant’s Wife offers small plates of local, fresh ingredients. Littleneck clam flatbread with broccoli rabe crumbs, crushed red peppers, and Pecorino; Southold Bay oysters three ways: raw with pickled ramp mignonette, crispy wrapped in beef carpaccio with aioli, and roasted with kale, fontina, and crushed chili; and seared jumbo sea scallops with minted pea salad, salsa verde, and yogurt are some of the dishes you can expect on the menu in the lounge. It’s the ideal spot for pre-dinner drinks and snacks with friends before hitting the town.
The café, located off the hotel’s lobby, serves Four Five coffee, croissants, gourmet sandwiches, salads, and snacks. The roof deck for hotel guests overlooks Greenport Harbor. Sip refreshing summer cocktails, wine, and beer on warm summer evenings. Learn more about what the village’s newest hotel offers here.
