International Coastal Cleanup Day

For more than 30 years, communities around the world have gathered on shorelines for one of the largest global efforts to combat pollution. International Coastal Cleanup Day, which takes place this year on Saturday, September 15, has brought together nearly 13 million people from 150+ countries to collect more than 250 million pounds of trash along coastlines are waterways. As being on the water is one of the biggest draws of the North Fork, we invite you to join local organizations in a beach cleanup of your own!

Atlantic Marine Conservation Society, Group for the East End, and Surfrider Foundation’s Eastern Long Island Chapter are joining together for a cleanup this Saturday at Breakwater Beach in Mattituck at 9 a.m. Bags and gloves will be provided. Show your love for our beaches by participating in the world’s largest volunteer effort to create trash-free seas! Sign up and find more information here.
