The North Fork’s bounty is draw for year-round residents, second homeowners, and even vacationers. The transition from summer to fall brings one local favorite to the forefront, and that’s sweet corn. It’s a great summer treat that transcends the seasons and is enjoyable right through harvest. You’ll find it roasted and slathered in butter at many farm stands like Harbes Family Farm in Mattituck and Jamesport and Country View Farm Stand in Southold.

Restaurants are also eating it up with tasty preparations like chilled Maine lobster and corn soup and sweet corn soufflé with blueberry sauce, both at North Fork Table and Inn in Southold. Greenport’s favorite pizza joint, 1943 Pizza Bar, uses the good stuff on specialty pies like roasted sweet corn with smoked bacon and scallions. Specials change weekly – check them out so you don’t miss out![/vc_column_text][/vc_column][/vc_row]
