Celebrating The Harvest

Fall is a premium time of year for a tour of the North Fork’s Route 25 wine road. On any given day, most wineries with tasting rooms are at the ready to welcome guests, but here are a few that are putting out the red carpet this fall with special events that get wine lovers into the vines.

SEPTEMBER

Sept. 20 – 21. 35th Annual Maritime Festival, 12 – 5 p.m. at the East End Seaport Museum. A family-friendly celebration of Greenport’s maritime history with a “Merfolk” parade, street fair, local food, live music and sea shanties, cardboard boat regatta. 

Sept. 28. Local Oyster Showcase, 3 p.m. hosted by Sparkling Pointe, a walk-around tasting experience of six Sparkling Pointe wines paired with Long Island oysters. Tickets: $110/$90 (wine club). 39750 County Road 48, Southold

Oct. 11. Annual Harvest Party at Wölffer Estate Vineyard. Family-friendly event featuring live music, international food stations alongside wines, ciders, and beers; games, barrel-rolling, grape-stomping relay races, pony and hay rides. 139 Sagg Road, Sagaponack

Oct. 12. Vine to Vintage “Help Us Harvest” at RG|NY; Two sessions at 11 a.m. (food by The Treatery) and 2 p.m. (Braun’s Seafood). Includes wine and a welcome toast. $87 per person. 6025 Sound Ave., Riverhead

Oct. 26. Annual Stomp Party at Bedell Cellars. Crush grapes, drink wine and enjoy lunch by Lombardi’s Love Lane and live music after. Tickets $75; $50 (club members). 36225 Main Road, Cutchogue

Sannino Vineyard

NOVEMBER

Nov. 1. Dia de los Meurtes at RG|NY. Authentic Mexican food and wine pairing cocktail style – the five-hour event will include a ceremonial fire and Dia de los Muertos themed performances and a DJ. Tickets: $165. 6025 Sound Avenue, Riverhead

Nov. 7. North Fork Promotional Council’s 2025 Harvest Celebration, 6 p.m., held at Raphael Vineyards. Tickets are $125 and include a cocktail party at the vineyard, “discount passport” for local businesses. 39390 NY-25, Peconic
