A new boutique hotel has opened in Greenport. The Menhaden, named after one of the area’s most notable fisheries and also a bait fish known as “bunker,” is a nod to the Village’s roots. With all of this in mind, the 16-room hotel is committed to sustainable and environmentally conscious tourism. Modern with its contrasting black and white design, the hotel marries past and present.
While we wait for the hotel to be in full operation, those looking to explore The Menhaden’s spaces now can stop by during pop-ups with Croteaux Vineyards on weekends. Guests can enjoy tastings of various rosés produced by the vineyard as well as retail sales. Once fully open, there will be a full-service bar and restaurant as well as a rooftop deck to enjoy views of the harbor. Learn more about the hotel and its love of local history here.
