Help keep North Fork beaches beautiful. Local nonprofit organizations have banded together to promote the Strawless Summer campaign on the East End, which has recently expanded to include all of Suffolk County. Atlantic Marine Conservation Society, Group for the East End, and Surfrider’s Eastern Long Island Chapter have been advocating and educating to keep single-use plastics, like straws, out of our waters.
Join these groups this Thursday at 4 p.m. at the Greenport Theatre for a free screening of the short documentary, Straws. Learn why local establishments including Little Creek Oyster Company, American Beech, Fork and Anchor, Peconic Cellar Door, and more are ditching plastic and taking part in a movement. Following the screening there will be a discussion on the local and global impact of plastic and what can be done to save our oceans. To register for free, click here.
