The longtime Corcoran Group manager and COO has been leading Elliman’s national expansion since late 2015 as chief operating officer. While he will retain that title, he will also take on managerial responsibilities from Elliman’s CEO, Dottie Herman.

Herman will remain as CEO and continue her duties as national spokesperson and brand ambassador. Herman’s role, “should be as an overall strategist and less focused on the day-to-day minutiae,” chairman Howard Lorber told the publication. Herman holds a 30 percent stake in the company while Lorber owns 70 percent.

Under Durkin’s guidance, the brokerage acquired two new companies this year: Los Angeles-based Teles Properties (500 agents and 20 offices) and Boston’s Otis & Ahearn (which focuses on new development). He has several more cities in mind including San Francisco.[/vc_column_text][/vc_column][/vc_row]
