Claudio’s Gives Back to the Greenport Community

The iconic Greenport restaurant Claudio’s is commemorating its 150th anniversary this summer and while this is not the anticipated celebration, the Claudio’s team wants to support their neighbors. Knowing this is a difficult time for many who have been impacted by this global pandemic, they are looking to help those of the North Fork community that have been loyal fans of the restaurant.

Claudio’s is kicking off their summer community initiatives on Wednesday, May 20th by donating food to Community Action Southold Town (CAST), which serves low-income individuals and families on the North Fork.  After the first donation, those in need can visit CAST every other Tuesday to pick up individually packaged meals of on and off menu items like their signature pizzas, pastas and seafood. Claudio’s Waterfront recently opened for takeout, delivery and dockside pickup so those visiting the restaurant can also donate canned goods, clothing and more that will be brought to CAST.

As part of their ongoing support of the Eastern Long Island community, Claudio’s is sponsoring the EMT Celebrate Pizza Party on Thursday, May 21st from 2pm to 3pm on the patio at East Long Island Hospital. Claudio’s is also donating gift certificates for weekly raffles to the staff, as well as working on a project to decorate masks in honor of the 475 employees at ELIH. The masks will be hung at the hospital as a ‘Thank You’ to the community’s first responders.

Claudio’s is also hosting a Memorial Day weekend party for the residents of San Simeon by the Sound. Scott Sheehy aka DJ Spin Diesel will be spinning tunes from a safe social distance outside in the courtyard for residents on Wednesday, May 27th from 2:30pm to 4pm. Since residents have been unable to see their families during this pandemic, Claudio’s is encouraging relatives to send in a video message of love which will play before DJ Spin Diesel kicks off his set. The party will be available to view via live stream on Claudio’s and San Simeon’s Facebook accounts.
