Something the North Fork is known for is their food and beverage culture. What we do particularly well is beer and oysters. When together, they’re even better! Greenport Harbor Brewing Co. is hosting the 6th Annual Oysterfest at their Carpenter Street location on Sunday, October 7 from 12 to 7 p.m. Eight oyster farmers including Oysterponds Shellfish Co., Founders Oyster Farm, Lucky 13 Oysters, Peconic Pearls Oyster Farm, Southold Shindigs, Little Creek Oyster Farm, Thatch Island Farms, and Southold Bay Oysters will be on hand while the brewery serves up their best brews, including the seasonally popular Oyster Stout.
Cornell Cooperative Extension Marine Program will be recycling oyster shells from the event in an effort to support the creation of oyster reefs in local waters. Enjoy your favorite briny bivavles, sip some great brews, and give back to the bays of the East End! Oh, and what would a North Fork event be without live music? This year Route 48 is performing. We’ll see you there!
