North Fork Real Estate Showcase recently sat down with two of the founding members of North Fork Real Estate Inc. and discussed life on the East End of Long Island.
Kristen Rishe was born and raised in Orient on her great-grandfather’s farm, Sep’s, which is still in operation today. Growing up, she worked in the fields and the greenhouses which gave her a strong work ethic. Some of the area’s most colorful characters are always around the farm to lend a hand. This sense of community strengthens her ties to the North Fork past and present. Greenport’s precious nearness to the sea is why she, her husband Greg, and their two sons, claim it as home. Kristen began her career in real estate in 1996. She quickly became a top producer and shortly thereafter became a managing broker. Kristen excels in assisting people discover their own starting place on the North Fork. She enjoys helping people overcome the fears inherent in both buying and selling a home. Seeing the strong connections people make with the land here on the North Fork has become Kristen’s passion. Sheila Izzo relocated from the city over 25 years ago. Sheila and her husband Pete started new ventures which included a fishing fleet and a communications business. They feel blessed to have raised their three grown sons on the beautiful North Fork. Sheila quickly became very active in local community pursuits including coaching baseball and summer soccer teams. Sheila has been chairperson for numerous charitable events including garden seminars, fashion shows, golf and fishing outings. In addition to her volunteering activities, Sheila began her own design business which included designing beautiful and festive settings for homes, businesses and country clubs. The love of architecture and beautiful surroundings was a natural lead-in for Sheila’s venture into the real estate industry. Sheila’s knowledge of the North Fork real estate market and its individual hamlets help buyers find their own piece of heaven right here on the North Fork.
