East Main Street in Riverhead got a new taco joint this month. Taco Bout It is serving up Mexican cuisine including tacos with handmade tortillas, quesadillas, and Tex-Mex favorites. Opened by the owners of Boom Burger in Mattituck, Anthony Catanzaro and Anthony Cicogna, the restaurant took on Mexican-born and North Fork resident chef Alejandro Ramirez to man the kitchen.

Tucked away in a former Mexican restaurant, the group breathed new life into the space with bright blocks of color on walls, tables, and chairs. The casual and affordable eatery is serving fun favorites like chimichangas with rice, beans, cheese, and fillings such as veggie, chorizo, el pastor, and shrimp. Try the chef’s special Chiki Plate with your choice of meat, rice and beans, avocado, and handmade corn tortillas. The restaurant is open Tuesday through Sunday.
