Abound with ways to spend time outside, the North Fork is place known for its preserved land, open space, and beautiful beaches. To honor nature and the local community, there are several events going on this weekend to celebrate Earth Day. Here are some ideas…

Lace up your running shoes and hit the trails for the North Fork Environmental Council’s annual Earth Day 5K at Indian Island County Park on Sunday – registration opens at 8:30 a.m. Join Group for the East End and Atlantic Marine Conservation Society for a beach cleanup at Dam Pond Preserve in East Marion on Sunday from 12 to 2 p.m. Next Saturday celebrations continue with Astronomy and Earth Day at Custer Institute in Southold. Celebrate your own way and pick up trash at your favorite beach or trails. Happy Earth Day![/vc_column_text][/vc_column][/vc_row]
