Clients’ Best Interest Comes First

NFRES: As one of the more seasoned real estate agents on the North Fork, what is it that sets you apart from the others?
TM: I came to the real estate industry after 26 years of commodity brokerage and trading.  The negotiating skill, market insight and client-centric business approach that led to my prior success, have proven to be valuable assets to my current clients and customers.

NFRES: What do you like to do on the North Fork…after selling real estate of course?
TM: I like to be on the water. Fly Fishing is always my first choice.  Having recently taken up sailing, I sail when conditions are not condusive to fishing. My vegetable garden keeps me busy in the spring and early summer.

NFRES: What is the best advice you can give a 2nd homebuyer when searching for a vacation home on the North Fork?
TM: Purchasing a home is one of the biggest financial decisions a person will make in their lifetime.  For that reason, buyers should choose an agent they feel will represent their best interests  and stick with them.

NFRES: The North Fork is a unique market, would you agree and why?
TM: Our market is very sensitive to economic conditions beyond the North Fork. Being a secondary home market, keeping tabs on Wall Street, ROI of investment vehicles, and other financial trends is just as important as knowing our pricing structure and inventory.
We are also unique because we are working hard to maintain our agrarian roots and bucolic lifestyle by controlling development. The North Fork offers a time-honored way of life with all of the modern entertainment options and conveniences.

NFRES: How would you describe your selling style?
TM: I am very straight forward with my clients.  Telling the truth can sometimes be painful, but the clients need truthful information in order to make informed decisions.  The clients’ best interest always comes first.

NFRES: Can you tell us about some of your more notable sales?
TM: I was very pleased to assist one of my buyers in the purchase a spectacular soundfront home in Orient last year.  The purchase was 30% under budget and met all of their criteria.

NFRES: What is the most personally satisfying part of your work?
TM: When I speak to my buyers months afterwards and they thank me for helping them buy the home that changed their lives.
